Full Description
{1} Most of the main street of the village has houses on both sides, but a large open space on the west side has the remains of a row of former buildings set within fragmentary closes;
{2} Archaeological observation during the soil stripping of a site compound identified a series of post-medieval features including a yard, stone surfaces, stone-lined well and a number of possible industrial pits. Due to the shallow nature of the groundworks, none of the features were excavated. Redeposited pottery indicated Roman to medieval settlement may also survive.
