Summary

Cropmarks of enclosures and linear ditches. A pit alignment and L-shaped linear ditch of probable Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Located in a field NW of Fox Covert, the cropmarks comprise a 92 metres long pit alignment, aligned NNE-SSW. At the S end of the alignment are two macula of uncertain date and function to the east: and an L-shaped ditch up to 5 metres wide to the west.

{2} A pit alignment and L-shaped linear ditch of probable Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in a field about 360 metres NW of Fox Covert and centred at SP 90719 63603, the cropmarks comprise a 92 metres long pit alignment, aligned NNE-SSW. At the S end of the alignment are two macula of uncertain date and function to the east: and an L-shaped ditch up to 5 metres wide to the west, about 58 metres SSW-NNE and 37 metres WNW-ESE.
