Summary

Excavation of a number of trenches has revealed undated road surfaces to a depth of 2.6m.

Full Description

{1}Features;1975;Horseshoe St;contractors trench;road surfaces with layers of silt in between recorded to a depth of up to 2.6m;,

{2}Water authority trench on the east side of Horseshoe Street near junction with St James Street;road surfaces ,with silt in between to a depth of 2.6m;,

{3} Anglian Water Authority and other trenches were observed, mainly in 1975. Road surfaces were recorded to a depth of 2.6 m.

{4}At least three metalled road levels, clay and soil layers down to natural at 1.93m. Lower levels compacted.
