Full Description
{1} 62 irregularly shaped pits and gullies - 20 of which contained early-middle Saxon pottery. Pits varied in diameter between 0.5m and 4m and in depth from 0.3m to 0.8m. Possibly for tree clearance or horticultural purposes.Main period of activity on the site early-middle Saxon, although some evidence for a continuation in late Saxon and medieval period.
{2} Early Saxon pits, gullies and post holes. No building plots were obtained and the function of the pits is uncertain. Early Saxon pottery and bone were obtained.
