Description

{2} Small scale excavation undertaken in the gardens of Broadfield House and an adjacent pasture field during the expansion of the factory. Extensive 18th-19th century limestone quarries were revealed on the valley side. On the upper valley side a number of early-middle Saxon pits (possibly associated with tree clearance) were excavated and a possible late Saxon plot possibly aligned on Grove Street.
