Summary

Formal gardens and landscape park to Great Harrowden Hall. The gardens were created circa 1720 and comprise a series of compartmentalised formal gardens containing statues by John Van Nost and ironwork by Thomas Warren. Additions to the gardens were made in 1908. The park was laid out in 1718

Full Description

{1} Early C18th compartmentalised formal gardens, little altered, and former deer park associated with an early C18th country house.

{6} Formal gardens and landscape park to Great Harrowden Hall. The park was created after 1754 and contains early 18th century formal gardens comprising series of rectangular enclosures which originally contained statues and grass plots. Near to the gardens were an orchard and kitchen garden. Also present is a terraced walk near to the house. A plan of 1725 showns that most of the original garden layout still survives.
