Full Description
{1} A section of the Roman road running from Huntingdon to Leicester was revealed in a drainage trench for road works at a depth of 3ft. The road had a limestone core c.3ins deep and 17ft wide. A solid gravel layer 9ins deep x 21ft wide overlay the limestone core with an overlap of 4ft all to one side. No evidence of the road from Waternewton to Thrapston was revealed.
{2} Section of road was not drawn and the ngr of TL00827952 is taken purely from memory; plans are not accurate.
