Full Description
{1}OS record cards refer to two Collared urns discovered at Burton Latimer between 1903 and 1920. One of these, now without identification, is in the Northampton Museum and appears to be that listed as having come from Northamptonshire by Longworth who considers it to be one of the Primary Series. The other is in the Kettering Museum, located as from Burton Latimer, and is also one of the Primary Series;
{2} The urn in the Northampton Museum is derived from the Charlton Collection received c1920;
{5} Northampton Museum record, and hold, only one B.A. urn from Burton Latimer; this is on show in the Charlton collection described as "L.B.A. cinerary", no precise site is known. The urns are not recorded in T.J.George's "Arch. Survey of Northants" 1904, at which time he was the museum curator, hence the finds almost certainly post dated this publication. The Charlton Collection was bequested to the Museum Circ. 1920.
