Full Description

{1} Field name: Hall Close.

{2} A series of rectangular earthwork closes containing in some cases the sites of buildings. Many of the banks indicate the former presence of stone walls.

{3} The area around the fishponds is covered with low banks, mounds and scarps, forming no coherent pattern, which may represent an earlier site of the village of Pilton. [N.B. Quoted grid ref of TL02508437 applies to fishponds rather than settlement earthworks.

{4} Settlement earthworks (mapped as part of RFP Survey).
