Full Description

{1} Roman pottery found while ploughing in 1957 on the Stanion/Brigstock parish boundary. Also shells and iron slag. About 25 sherds, including Samian fragment, colour-coated and coarse ware fragments, 2nd to 4th century.

{2,3} R.B. pottery found at SP 92638611 whilst ploughing in 1957. The finds were made by Mr. R. Snell of Lower Lodge, Stanion. Retained by Northampton Museum and classified 2nd century.

{4} Mr. Snell has moved away. The present farmer was unable to supply any further information.
