Monument record 2544/0/2 - Roman Buildings & Associated Finds Scatters (DNH Database: Brigstock/Site 9)

Settlement represented by surface scatters of artefacts.

{1} C2nd to C4th Roman pottery and iron slag was recovered during fieldwalking.

{4} Fieldwalking in 1978/79; stone area to north of ngr SP926860. Romano-British pot sherds including Samian & colour-coated ware, two quern stones, pebbles and a few pieces of slag; probably a large Roman site; info D.N.Hall 11/12/1979; <<RN:9286009>>

{5} Settlement (Significant find scatter). Large site centred at NGR; just north was lots of building stone and 2 millstone grit querns. Dark area with pebbles, samian colour- coated and shelly wares, mostly late. Some slag. At SP 9320 8578 lot of burnt limestone and a few pebbles, 2 Lyveden sherds (13th).
