Full Description

{1} Unlocated find from pre 1921. A Saxon biconical cinerary vessel decorated with incised lines and stamped circles.

{6} An Anglo/Saxon cinerary urn, from Little Weldon, in Northampton Museum, Acc. No: D310/1954-5 is a large bowl, 14.0cm high 19.4cm in diameter, decorated by J Rooke, Esq (a). A brief reference to this urn - the only literary reference found - expresses uncertainty as to "whether it is a cinerary urn or not" {4}.

{7} No field action.

{8} One specific potter can be distinguished as having used chevron ornament and small circle stamps, material from the same potter has been recovered from Weldon.
