Full Description

{1} The canal, which bounded south and west of the orchard and fishpond area, survived later landscape changes; it is spanned by a single-arched bridge of late C18th/early C19th date [Mon 3472/1/7] which linked the house to its park. The early C17th Cherry Yard which lay on the south side of the canal running to the south of the house had apparently been cleared by the early C18th, although its basic form was retained. It was presumably removed as part of the mid C18th landscaping although the canal was again retained.
