Full Description

{1} Features. Medieval house platforms at Barton Seagrave were cut into by road works. Masonry was revealed at a depth of 5ft. SP890774.

{2} House platforms cut into and pottery recovered by road widening. Gives grid ref as SP880774.

{3} Before the modern road was widened and realigned there were several platforms and paddocks alongside it. During the road works it was noted that some of the platforms had masonry on them.

{5} During road widening in the mid 1960s, a considerable amount of medieval pottery and masonry was uncovered just to the north of this area.
