{10} A Church of St. Mary

A limestone church of C.13 and C.15. West tower with good tall broach spire and fine gargoyles. Discreetly repaired 1840. The clerestoried nave, aisles, north and south porches are C.15. In the chancel, C.13, there are C.15 and C.17 brasses, and a C.16 wall tomb.

{11} Watercolour of church dated 1853, plus sketches of windows, also drawing of tomb(?) of Simon Norwich;

{14} With the exception of the east and south chancel windows, which are late C13, the church is Perpendicular. Similarities between the nave here and at Islip may be connected with Simon Norwich, who possessed manors in both parishes. All medieval glass has been relocated from its original position.
