Monument record 4448 - Probable prehistoric and Roman settlement, north-east of Hoe Hill Spinney

Summary
Cropmarks of ditched enclosures, including a large D-shaped enclosure at the eastern edge of the site, as well as probable boundary ditches, a pit alignment and undated quarry. Roman pottery and a small number of worked flints have been found.

Full Description
{1} Roman pottery and a few worked flints have been discovered on the ground and cropmarks of enclosures are said to have been seen from the air.
{2} SP 729680 Hoe Hill. Ro sherds and a few worked flints found in February 1965 on a site which shows cropmarks of
enclosures. (Nothing visible on available APs (OS 1965))
{3} The indicated area is arable and under crop. There are no surface indications.
