Summary

Windmill mound situated north of the main drive to Courteenhall House. A 1766 map of the village depicts a post mill standing on a low mound; on the Tithe Map of 1839, the mill is no longer shown but the area is called Windmill Hill. The mound is oval in plan measuring 20 metres by 16 metres and 0.25 metres high, with a ditch 5 metres across and 0.25 metres deep on the north and south sides.

{1} Map shows a post mill on a low mound.

{2} Mill had gone by 1839. Field name: Windmill Hill.

{3} Windmill mound lying in the north corner of a triangular spinney, on the north side of the main drive to Courteenhall House, and on the summit of a hill. The 1766 map depicts a post mill standing on a low mound. It is not shown on the 18839 Tithe Map, but the area is called Windmill Hill. An oval mound survives, 20m x 16m and 0.25m high with a ditch 5m wide and 0.25m deep on the north and south sides. It has been much damaged by tree removal in recent years.

{4} On a hilltop north of the drive is the mound of a post-mill shown on the 1766 map but gone by 1839.
