Summary

Three coins of Tacitus (AD 275-6) and Probus (AD 276-82), and perhaps more, are said to have been found in an urn in Hardingstone Field in 1845. Perhaps a "third brass" hoard of the late 3rd century AD. Exact location unknown

Full Description

{1} Romano-British coin hoard; three coins of Tacitus (AD 275-6) and Probus (AD 276-82) along with others were found in an urn in 'Hardingstone Field' in 1845. It is suggested this was a 'third brass' hoard of AD 250-80. The exact location of the find is not known though local information sites it on the north-west side of village.
