Summary

A watching brief undertaken in 1991 during the renewal of a water pipe identified possible stone walls and surfaces which may be the remnants of a building.

Full Description

{1}Watching brief M Webster 1991, trench for renewal of water pipe, 2 parallel features of solid ironstone blocks in south west of trench. These may have been possible walls. No dating evidence. There were two ironstone surfaces in NE of trench. Tile and pot sherds were recovered of Romano British date.

{2}In renewal of waterpipe metalled areas & possible stone walls were observed & recorded; tile & small quantities of Romano-British pottery of 2nd-4th century date were removed;
