Full Description

{1} In July 1955 a woman lifting potatoes in the kitchen garden of the Porch House, Dodford near Weedon. came across a small gold coin. This has since been identified as a Burgundian imitation of
an English quarter-noble of the type struck in Flanders for Philip the Bold between 1388 and his death in 1404. It has been acquired for the National Collection

{2} A C14th coin, identified as a Burgundian initiation of a English quarter-noble of the type struck in Flanders for Philip The Bold was found in 1955 at the north end of Dodford village.

{4} Mrs G.S Legge indicated the spot where she found the coin at SP 61356085. It is now in the British Museum.
