Full Description
{1} A large feature running in an E-W direction. Only partly excavated and appeared to be at least 0.3m deep but may have been over 1m deep. 13 sherds of late Saxon pottery were found. It is possible feature 7 may have been a large boundary trench. Approximately 6m to the north a shallow gully was encountered. It appeared to be a maximum of 0.3m deep with gently sloping sides, and contained 7 sherds of St. Neots ware. Its function was unclear but may also have been some kind of boundary gully as it ran parallel with the northern feature.
The full width of the northern feature could not be ascertained so it is possible that it represented a large rubbish pit.
