Summary
Monks Park was the property of St Andrews Priory in the medieval period comprising eight acres of grazing land. It was acquired by Francis Crane in 1630.

Full Description
{1} Monks Park possibly dates from C12th; first mentioned in inventory of lands of St Andrew's Priory; St Andrew's owned substantial lands in and around Northampton including eight acres of grazing ground forming Monks Park.
{2} Mentions Monks Park as part of lands of St Andrew's priory drawn up in 1537; site and lands of monastery were sold in 1550 to Sir Thomas Smyth of Theydon Mount in Essex; later to Sir Frances Crane.
