Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking in 1967 recovered finds on either side of a small stream. These comprised building stone and Romano-British pottery including Samian. The latter was made by two potters from Central Gaul c.100-120 AD. Finds in Kettering Museum.

{2} Field walking near Finedon in Feb 1967 to check a crop mark site seen in 1966 (a) located two sites on opposite sides of a stream (SP912703 & SP911704).
Building stone, Roman coarse ware and pieces of Samian were found on both sites; that on the W bank being of Potter x 2 of Central Gaul 100-120 AD. The finds are in Westfield Museum. (Nothing visible on Aps).

{5} The area was perambulated and found to be almost entirely covered by corn stubble and grass. Nothing of interest seen and local enquiries negative.
