Full Description

{1} Unlocated find made after 1903; an Iron Age currency bar, sword shaped with tubular socket. Thirty and a half inches long, one and three eighth inches wide. Incorrectly recorded by Tylecote as 83 bars. In fact only one. Weight= c.25 oz, pre 1917;

{10} Given to Northampton Museum by GV Charlton;

{9,11} A complete currency bar found with others (number not stated) at Burton Latimer. It was presented by G Charlton Esq. and weighs about 25 ozs.
Northanpton Museum records refer to only one bar from Burton Latimer (the record was compiled by George - {9} - during his curatorship), and the present Keeper (R Moore) considers the figure of 83 to be highly unlikely.
