Full Description
{1}Cropmarks seen in 1959; A.Warhurst;
{2} Air photographs show a ditched trackway with an enclosure at its south end. The latter has a number of internal features, including at least two penannalar or ring ditches, probably hut-circles. Two other sub-rectangular enclosures and an irregular linear ditch are also visible in the area.
{6}Trial excavation undertaken in 1990 by Dennis Jackson. Most of the features which had been recorded as cropmarks were of Iron Age date. The numerous pit alignments are some of the earliest features on the site and these are in turn replaced by linear boundaries and ditched enclosures. At least two of the enclosures date to the middle to late Iron Age period. Finds from the ditches and other features are sparse;
