Summary
A scatter of prehistoric pottery, largely dating to the Iron Age, was found in later features during archaeological evaluation as well as 25 worked flints. Together these finds indicate some form of prehistoric activity in the vicinity.

Full Description
{1, 2} Trial excavation undertaken in June-July 1989. Evidence from the finds recovered, which included four sherds of pre-Iron Age and 14 sherds of Iron Age pottery and 25 worked flints, suggests some form of prehistoric activity in the area although none of the features could be identified as prehistoric.
