Full Description

{1} FLDWALKING; SOILMARK & SUBRECT DITCH ED ENCL. VISIBLE & MUCH BLG STONE & RB POT SHERDS; MAP AREA INDICATED.

{2} The site at TL035865 produced much building stone and pottery, and was surrounded by a sub-rectangular ditch, still plainly visible. Possible confusion with finds reported 200m to west.

{3} Roman settlement (TL 033865). The existence of this Roman settlement has now been confirmed by the discovery of considerable amounts of building stone and pottery.

{4} Roman settlement (?)(TL 033865) close to the R. Nene on River Gravel at 80 ft above OD. Roman pottery and limestone blocks were discovered during ditching operations in 1970 and subsequently more pottery has been found in the surrounding area.
