Full Description

{1} Running SE from SE corner of large hillfort are ewks of hollow way; takes form of linear depression about 5m wide & up to 1m deep; 300m long running along spur of hill; followed on S side by bank 3m wide & 1m high; together with S defences of hillfort these features mark part of boundary of Anglo Saxon estate recorded in C10th & earlier; during trial excn in 1991 hollow way found to overlie course of earlier ditch;

{2} A ditch 1.4m deep was located beneath a hedgerow and other shallow features, which may be ditches or fence lines truncated by the hollow way, were found parallel with it. None of the features was dated but the main ditch could be Iron Age in date.
