Monument record 4157/1/3 - Possible alternative location for hermitage

{1}Rectilinear ditched & banked enclosure 65 x 60m; entrance on north side;

{2}Follow up to SMR report submitted 9/6/93. The enclosure broadly rectilinear in plan aligned aproximately NNW by SSE and measuring c. 65 by 60m. A shallow earthwork ditch some 2 to 3m wide together with traces of a low internal bank or wall line defined its E and N sides. Observations imply that the enclosure might have been constructed during the time that the ridge and furrow was in use. ?is it the unlocated hermitage.

{3}A rectilinear ditched and banked earthwork enclosure approxiamately 65 by 60m in extent with an entrance to the north was located by field survey. It is flanked to the west by a hollow way.
