Full Description

{1} Substantial pit/ditch found to centre of Trench C. Six sherds of Romano-British pottery were recovered of mainly AD C1st-2nd. Also a shallow posthole cut by a narrow ditch. A further posthole and four sherds AD C2nd-3rd pottery were also recovered from the overlying layer along with burnt clay and daub.


{}Unexpected discovery; settlement either on small scale or trench on periphery of larger area of Romano-British activity lying outside site; no record of other Romano-British discoveries in area;
