Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking produced thin scatter of pottery of various date - 12 sherds post medieval, 6 sherds Roman, 3 possible prehistoric sherds. No significant clustering - may be manuring scatter or from activity at Crow Hill.

{2} Relatively little pottery was recovered and there is no significant patterning in the distribution of sherds. 5 Romano-British and 3 prehistoric/ Romano-British sherds were recovered.
The fieldwalking has shown that the site witnessed prehistoric and Roman activity, but not of such intensity as that at Crow Hill. The results may simply be indicating a fall-off in activity as one moves further away from the Crow Hill focus, or may represent a manuring scatter.
