{1} Boot and shoe factory, Midland Road. The boot and shoe factory shown on ordnance survey map of 1926 at the northern most part of the core of the settlement has now been demolished and replaced by modern housing.

{2} Factory now operated by Coggins firm which was established at end of C19th. Three-storey factory in two adjoining blocks; datestone inscribed 'CEN 1896'.
