Full Description
{1} Watching brief undertaken by Mrs. G. Brown of a drainage trench, 6 ft. wide by 10 ft. deep, running from NE. to SW. along the second platform. A medieval drain underlying the top terrace produced medieval sherds, a goat's skull and domestic debris.
{2} The watching brief revealed a foundation trench with evidence of burnt brick, suggesting that there was a large well-constructed building which pre-dates the terraces. The foundation trench cut an earlier field drain.
