{1} Rose garden established in early 18th century.

{2} Rose garden on west side of house. Circa 1700 was originally conceived and planted with roses sheltered by cluster of evergreens and open only to the south. Rose garden also included gravel paths and arches to form "Rose Walk".

{3}Aynho let to Fullertons in 1870's - they stocked garden with many rose trees - dispute over whether they could take these when they left the house.
