Summary
Welford Bridge was a medieval stone bridge of two arches which was replaced in 1817. The present bridge, on the boundary between Leicestershire and Northants, is a two arched structure of brick and stone.

Full Description
Russell {6} lists Welford Bridge over the Avon, a stone bridge of two arches existed before 1800 and was rebuilt in 1817, and quotes Nichols {7} who has an illustration, dated 1796, of a two-arch bridge which he calls "Husbands Bosworth Bridge at the entrance to Welford" Act of Parliament, 1721, mentions Welford-Bridge {8} See AO/60/137/3
{5} SP 6446 8085 - The present bridge, on the boundary between Leicestershire and Northants, is a two arched structure of brick and stone. No evidence of a medieval bridge was seen.
