Full Description

{1} Early Saxon 'unbaked cup' 2.5ins high x 3.5ins diameter; perforated projections on side and round bottom. Also early Saxon cinerary urns. Found on the manor of Wolfage. Found a few years before 1849.

{3, 4} An unbaked cup, 2 1/2 inches high and 3 1/2 inches diameter was found on the manor of Wolfage, in Brixworth, with several cinerary urns. It has perforated projections on the side and its round bottom is stained with smoke(1) Classified as A/S by George. (See SP 77 SW 29 for poss duplication of Cin. urns).

{5} Northampton Museum have no information concerning this "cup"; 2 cinerary urns from 'Brixworth' are held as on SP 77 SW 29. Precise sites are not known. Bridges map is not available.
