Three or four Bronze Age urns have been found in Brixworth parish; more exact location unknown.

Full Description

{1} There are three or four Bronze Age urns from the parish, including two primary series collared urns;

{2} One middle Bronze Age decorated cremation urn found 1899; two primary collared urns, 5.5ins high, one ornamented and one plain;

{3} A Bronze Age pot, height 5 3/4 inches was found at Brixworth possibly with an unburnt internment. Illustrations.

{4} Three pre-Roman urns were found at Brixworth in 1899. One of unusual form. The others are cinerary urns both 5 1/2 inches high one with an ornamental round lip and upper part of body the other is plain. All are in Northampton Museum.

{6} These urns were identified in Northampton. All are Bronze Age. The one quoted "of unusual form" is a fine example of a Middle Bronze Age OHR urn with excellent decoration. No precise sites are known.
