Monument record 3194/0/1 - Romano-British Inhumation & Associated Finds

Roman features, including a burial, were found during the construction of the school in 1953

{1} Features revealed in 1953 during building of school. Romano-British inhumation, associated with coins and pot sherds.

{2} Romano-British coin and pottery recovered from site of new school at Hayway, Rushden.

{4} (SP952676) RB burial with associated coins and sherds found in 1953 on school site. The coins have disappeared but the sherds arein Northampton Museum.

{6} SP 950673, Woodland Road. A few 2nd century sherds found in 1953.

{7} Mr Groome of Higham Ferrars History Society said both sherds and skeleton were sent to the museum.
