{1} Excavation, undertaken in 1967-68. 4 pottery kilns and possibly 3 more, as well as a network of ditches and gullies. Dated from pre-Belgic Iron Age to mid-late C1st AD. Finds of Iron Age, Belgic and Romano-British pot sherds, kiln debris, along with a bronze brooch, an iron brooch, part of a rotary quern and animal bones. An undated inhumation burial was found close to one of the kilns. Excavated by P. J. Woods before construction of the primary school in Martin's Lane Hardingstone SP764574.
