Monument record 5081/0/1 - Medieval pits possibly relating to manor

{1} Medieval pot sherds from C of E School, Knights Lane, Kingsthorpe.

{2} Medieval pot and bones from C of E School, Knights Lane, Kingsthorpe.

{3} During the levelling the site of the new Kingsthorpe Church of England School, Knights Lane, medieval remains were uncovered. The finds were made on what is believed to be the spot of the village manor house once stood. A number of pits with bones of cattle and sheep, and pot sherds dating from the C13th/14th. Post Med sherds were found in the same field nearer the church. Finds now in N.Mus.

{4} Five sherds of St Neots/ Med Shelly and later wares found at Kingsthorpe School in c.1960 as surface finds.
