Monument record 1641/0/248 - Iron Age/Romano-British Enclosures

{1} Considerable buried remains were detected including possible enclosures. To the north east of the large subrectangular enclosure was a series of smaller rectangular enclosures measuring approx 25m x 20m.

{3} At Irchester Roman Town, a magnetometer survey to the north-east of the walled town located evidence of rectangular enclosures with roundhouses within them.

{5} Ditches extending from the enclosure to the north-east and forming a T-shape (Fig 7, D11), could be part of further smaller enclosures.
