Full Description

{1} Quarrymen's houses, dated circa 1900. A total of 12 terraced houses of red brick with blue slate roofs. At the rear of each set of 6 houses are brick outhouses.

{2} Because the quarries were remote from the villages the company built a number of cottages for the workpeople. There were six in Grange Road, Geddington and twelve "Storefield Cottages" on the main Kettering to Uppingham road. Built in two rows of six, and two on Newton Road, for the manager and foreman.Tom Julian had wooden boards erected to prevent coal dust blowing over the gardens when coal slack was being unloaded, and these are still there.
