Full Description

{2} Late Saxon, medieval and late medieval surface scatter of pottery and limestone fragments may represent the presence of buildings. A decline in the quantity of pottery towards Back Lane may suggest the limit of settlement with intensive agricultural activity along Back Lane.

{3} Two trenches were excavated on the south side of Brooks Road. The remains of a possible wall on the same north-east to south-west alignment as the road and two ditches aligned perpendicular to it were identified. Pottery found in association with these features indicates a date range between the 12th and 15th century. The features may be medieval property boundaries.
