Summary
The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post opened in 1938. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. It was constructed after the Second World War and closed in Sepember 1991. At the time of the Defence of Britain survey the site was found to have been destroyed. It was located underground opposite a covered reservoir on the south side of a track running west from Manor Road. Now demolished

Full Description
{1} In summer of 1965 RAF decided that it no longer required services of ROC in low-level reporting role; last 280 or so active overground structures became redundant; opened 1938; ngr 584374; 1953 was underground protected post accomodation for nuclear role; in use in 1968.
{3} Brackley SP 58423734; It was constructed after the Second World War and closed in Sepember 1991. It was located underground opposite a covered reservoir on the south side of a track running west from Manor Road. Demolished.
{4} There were 19 Observer posts in Northants during WW2; identifying number for Brackley was O2.
