Full Description

{1} Interleaved dumps of earth, ash, cinders and other waste including Victorian/Edwardian glass and pottery. A small amount of material including clay pipe fragments were retained for Northampton Museum. The dump extended 50m along the trench. W.R.G.Moore suggests that it was probably the site of a gravel quarry excavated and infilled circa 1904. The north-western edge of the dump coincides with small but prominent scarp.

{2} The Victorian/Edwardian dump material may coincide with previous gravel quarrying activity according W.R.G. Moore and possibly infilled c.1904.
