Full Description

{1} No trace of bank, wall or ditch was located in Trench A and the defences presumably ran to the southof this point. Trench B contained a small ditch c.4m wide x 2m deep. No dating evidence was recovered. It is presumed from the small size of the ditch that the town wall must have formed the main defensive obstacle at this point.
