Full Description
{1} Reference to autumn manoeuvrs of the British Army in 1913 held over a large area "comprising much of Herts, Bucks and Northants." Including "entrenched positions on Sharman's Hill, near Everdon". This last may be an error for Charwelton which contains Sharman's Hill. It is not known whether any physical trace of these 'entrenchments' survive.
{2} Cropmarks of a sub-rectangular ditched enclosure and other ditches. Linear and curvilinear features, which are possibly archaeological, but more likely to be natural as they appear at a soil boundary. Aerial photo NCCAP:SP5457/001
