Full Description
{1} Field A. Pottery occurred mainly in two groups marked A & B on Fig.5. The potsherds are mostly small and abraded. In total there were 4 Iron Age sherds of soft or shell-gritted fabric, 7 Romano-British sherds, 13 Saxon sherds of hard. Gritty fabric, and a further 14 sherds were undetermined. There were no other indications of settlement in Field A, although some small burnt stones were also noted in the areas of both Groups A & B.
