Full Description
{1}Features were present in trial trenches but indistinct due to dry conditions & had to be backfilled before recording could take place;
{3} Early-middle Saxon pottery was found over an area of 1.05ha. The linear plan of the pottery reflects its promontory location. Two trial trenches were excavated; severe dry conditions hampered identification of individual features which could not be fully excavated as the trenches had to be rapidly backfilled.
