Full Description
{2}"A pretty little summer-house now stands where perhapos the castle once stood in the long past, when thiis place wore a different aspect to what it does now, and served a different purpose. After discussing this subject a little, we walked round to the front of teh summer-house, where a surprise awaited us, for a grand scene burst upon our view. The ground drops down here very predipitately to a richly wooded valley, through which a little stream meanders. In the distance we see embosomed in trees Marston Trussell Hall, the seat of E.B. Ewins, Esq.",{1}Remains (concrete foundation) of small builidng occupying north eastern part of motte. Possibly depicted on 1900 OS 25" map. Almost certainly the remains of a summer house described in 1903 and said to have views over to Marston Trussell Hall.
